ISLAMABAD, August 5, 2018: Islamabad police Cricket team here on Sunday defeated local team of International Telecom Company by six wickets. Islamabad police won the match against Huawei Cricket team and its Captain Muhammad Ayub Awan elected to bowl first. Huawie Cricket team scored 141 runs in 25 overs of which its Captain Shafique scored maximum 60 runs. Islamabad bowler Faisal took three wickets while Ayub Awan, Atif and Nauman got two wickets each. In reply Islamabad police achieved the target easily in 22nd over after losing only four wickets. Atif scored 60 runs while Ayub Awan and Zubair Watto scored 40 and 20 runs respectively. Atif was declared Man of the match over all-round performance. IGP Islamabad Jan Muhammad appreciated this performance and said that such healthy activities for policemen should remain continue. The IGP Jan Muhammad said that the sports activities are very much crucial for a healthy society which not only promotes environment of competition but also inculcate the spirit to counter tough situation. The IGP said that policemen feel exhausted from long duties and such event will help to entertain them and provide them opportunity to demonstrate their sports skills. He also lauded the efforts of Sports Officer Islamabad Ayub Awan and Assistant Support Officer Muhammad Tahir for arranging such activities for policemen.
