FIR is the basic right of every complainant who is victim of any crime; and it is the duty of Police to register it promptly, as and when it is reported. It has been decided that prompt registration of cases will be ensured as a policy and it will implemented in letter and spirit. In pursuance of this, all the pending applications lying in police stations for many months were converted into FIRs; and as such more than 370 FIRs were registered with in a span of couple of weeks. SHOs have been strictly directed to immediately register cases and follow up with the investigation so that cases could be worked out effectively. At the same time, fake complaints/ FIRs are being discouraged through implementation of section 182 of PPC.
