Security Division

Overview

Established in 2003, the Security Division is a specialized arm of Islamabad Police responsible for safeguarding national leadership, international dignitaries, diplomatic missions, judicial institutions, and high-security installations across the federal capital. With advanced training, strategic planning, and 24/7 readiness, the Division ensures seamless VVIP/VIP protection and secure state operations.

Core Responsibilities

The Security Division provides integrated security for:

• President and Prime Minister of Pakistan
• Foreign Heads of State, Government dignitaries & State Guests
• Supreme Court, Islamabad High Court, ATCs, Civil Courts & judicial residences
• Federal Ministers and other senior officeholders
• Visiting provincial leadership, delegations & high-profile personalities
• VVIP/VIP venue and route security
• Diplomatic Missions, ambassadors’ residences, and UN agencies
• Pakistan Secretariat, High Security Zone & critical government installations
• International sports events, including Pakistan Super League (PSL)

Organizational Structure

The Division is led by the DIG Security, supported by the SSP Security, and eight Superintendents of Police overseeing:

• Aiwan-e-Sadr Security
• Prime Minister’s Office/House
• Parliament House & Lodges
• VVIP Route Security
• Diplomatic Protection Unit
• Supreme Court Security
• Judicial Protection Unit
• High Security Zone

Key Achievements…. 2025

In 2025, the Security Division successfully secured:

• 304 events involving the President and Prime Minister
• 19 foreign VVIP visits
• 531 engagements with foreign delegations and Ambassadors
• 10 international conferences and seminars
• 31 sessions of Parliament
• 925 additional events and movements across the capital

These operations reflect precision, coordination, and high-level operational expertise.

Cascade.…Diplomatic Facilitation Center

Launched in July 2024 inside the Diplomatic Enclave, the Cascade Facilitation Center serves the diplomatic community with streamlined services. Since its establishment, it has assisted nearly 8,000 visitors by providing:

• New and renewed driving licenses
• Police verification and character certificates
• Loss reports
• Employee and tenant registrations
