According to the details, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Ali Waseem chaired an important meeting with representatives of the trader community from Saddar and Industrial Zones, civil society, and local notables. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, SP Saddar Zone Kazim Naqvi, concerned SHOs and other police officers also attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation in Islamabad, protection of citizens and the business community, security measures, provision of a safe environment for business activities, and strengthening police-public coordination. Representatives of the trader community and civil society shared their concerns, issues and suggestions with the police officers.
DIG Islamabad Ali Waseem and SSP Operations Islamabad listened to the participants and directed the concerned officers to ensure effective security arrangements, a safe business environment and timely resolution of local issues. They also directed officers to maintain regular contact with traders and civil society representatives and adopt an effective strategy to address their concerns.
DIG Islamabad said that the protection of citizens and the business community is among the top priorities of Islamabad Police. He said that close cooperation between the police and public can further improve law and order and strengthen community policing. He added that ensuring the safety of citizens and traders and providing a peaceful environment for business activities are among the core responsibilities of the police.
Later, DIG Islamabad Ali Waseem visited Shalimar and Ramna Police Stations, where he inspected the front desk, record room, lock-up and other sections. He met citizens present at the stations, listened to their complaints and directed officers to ensure their prompt and effective resolution.
The DIG Islamabad directed the early disposal of under-investigation cases, arrest of previously-recorded, proclaimed and wanted offenders, timely completion of police records, and proper cleanliness at police stations. He also instructed officers to treat citizens with courtesy and respect and resolve their issues on priority in accordance with the law.
DIG Islamabad made it clear that abuse or misuse of authority would not be tolerated, while negligence or delay in providing timely and effective police services to citizens would also be unacceptable.
