Islamabad Police Arrest 22 accused; drugs and illegal weapons recovered

According to details, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police continues an effective crackdown across the federal capital to prevent crime, arrest criminal elements, and ensure the safety and security of citizens. As part of the ongoing operations, Islamabad Police teams arrested 17 accused involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. Police recovered 1,389 grams of ice, 21 bottles of liquor and 11 pistols of different calibers along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and further investigations are underway. Meanwhile, during a special campaign launched to arrest proclaimed offenders, individuals with previous criminal records, and court absconders, Islamabad Police arrested five wanted offenders. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza said that Islamabad Police remains fully committed to ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and property across the federal capital. He said that under the “No to Weapon” campaign, comprehensive action is being taken against illegal weapons, display of weapons, and aerial firing. He further stated that effective measures are also being taken to arrest proclaimed offenders and individuals with previous criminal records, while ensuring prompt access to justice for citizens. SSP Operations urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to their respective police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, enabling police and the public to work together to make the federal capital safer and more secure.
