According to the details, following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) is continuing comprehensive measures to ensure an organized traffic system, provide better travel facilities to citizens, and ensure effective enforcement of traffic laws across the federal capital.
During August, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) took legal action against 44,078 vehicles, motorcyclists, freight vehicles, and public transport vehicles for violating traffic laws. As part of a special enforcement campaign, legal action was taken against 14,725 motorcyclists and 29,353 vehicles.
Similarly, 2,662 motorcycles and 3,840 vehicles were impounded at various police stations for serious traffic violations, while 544 cases were registered.
Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) is also continuing special initiatives to raise public awareness about traffic laws and promote responsible driving. In this regard, the Traffic Education Wing conducted 76 awareness workshops at public places, government and private institutions, schools, colleges, and universities, educating 72,737 citizens and students about traffic laws, safe driving, and responsible road behavior.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan stated that compliance with traffic laws is not merely a matter of fines or legal action; it is essential for protecting precious human lives and ensuring a safe travel environment. She appealed to citizens to strictly follow traffic laws, observe speed limits, ensures helmet use while riding motorcycles, and follow lane discipline and other traffic regulations.
She further stated that the objective of Islamabad Traffic Police is not to cause unnecessary inconvenience to citizens but to provide them with a safe and organized traffic system. Traffic violations not only endanger the lives of drivers and other road users but also disrupt traffic flow. Therefore, indiscriminate enforcement against violations will continue.
CTO Islamabad further said that Islamabad Traffic Police is focusing not only on enforcement but also on public awareness and education so that citizens voluntarily consider compliance with traffic laws their responsibility. A safe, organized, and smooth traffic system in the federal capital can only be achieved through cooperation between citizens and the Traffic Police.
She reaffirmed that Islamabad Traffic Police will continue to utilize all available resources to prevent accidents, ensure smooth traffic flow, enforce the law uniformly, and provide the best possible travel facilities to citizens.
