No: 1000/PRB/CPO. According to the details, following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police are successfully continuing targeted operations against criminal elements.
In this regard, the Koral Police Station team, utilizing modern technology and human intelligence, arrested five members of two organized gangs involved in street crime.
During the operation, police recovered stolen valuables worth millions of rupees, 10 valuable mobile phones, two motorcycles, cash, five pistols used in criminal activities, and a large quantity of ammunition from the possession of the arrested suspects. The police also recovered a mobile phone and purse that had been snatched from a foreign woman.
During the preliminary investigation, the arrested suspects confessed to their involvement in multiple incidents of street crime, armed robbery, and other criminal activities across different areas of the federal capital. Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway. Efforts are also being made to arrest their remaining accomplices.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that the Islamabad Police will continue targeted operations against criminal elements without interruption. He emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the Islamabad Police's top priority and that every possible measure will be taken to make the federal capital a safe and crime-free city.
He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious person or activity to the nearest police station or the "Pukar-15" Police Helpline so that prompt legal action can be taken.
